viLid is a LiDAR-based 4D reality capture system from viAct for construction sites. It combines three scanning modes: fixed-point LiDAR poles for continuous monitoring of excavations, slopes and progress; drone-based LiDAR for aerial mapping of large areas and earthworks; and handheld scanners for indoor and confined spaces such as tunnels and shafts.
LiDAR spatial data is fused with high-resolution camera imagery to produce coloured 3D point clouds. These time-stamped scans are sent over 5G, 4G or LAN to a dashboard, where AI analytics compare them against earlier scans and BIM design models to flag deviations, out-of-sequence work and hazard zone changes. The viGent LLM lets users query site data in natural language and generate reports. Stated hardware specifications include ±2 cm measurement accuracy, 240,000+ points per second, 256 GB onboard storage and LAS file export.
Use cases include excavation volume measurement, stockpile calculation, slope deformation detection, as-built verification, digital twin creation and infrastructure corridor mapping for rail, highway and airport projects. The system is aimed at engineers, project managers and EHS teams.
