About Crontinel
Crontinel is an outcome monitoring service for background jobs and cron tasks. It separates the process status of a job, such as completing with exit code 0, from the business result, such as the number of records processed. If a rule requires at least one record and a job reports zero, or omits the count entirely, Crontinel opens an incident even though the job technically finished.
Jobs report in by posting a single JSON receipt over HTTP, with recipes for curl, Node, Python, Sidekiq and GitHub Actions. An optional Laravel Composer package attaches receipts from the scheduler and can add queue depth and Horizon freshness. Because the check is hosted, it is evaluated after the process exits rather than on the same machine. Alerts and recoveries are sent by email; Slack and webhooks are not yet listed. Incidents can also be read by coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code or Codex through an MCP server.
The dashboard shows run history, outcome status, worker and queue details. Crontinel is described as open source and is positioned as an alternative to the discontinued thenping.me.
