Schemity is desktop database design software that connects to a live database, draws every table as an ERD, and infers missing foreign keys as dashed lines. It reads PostgreSQL, Supabase, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server and SQLite, directly or over SSH, and supports Snowflake design through GET_DDL import. Large schemas can be split by domain into a Context Map and Context Views.
Before a schema change runs, Schemity draws it with dropped, added and changed columns and reports lost rows, failing statements, table rewrites and dependent views or triggers. Nothing reaches the database until the user clicks Migrate. A local MCP server with 16 tools lets AI agents such as Claude Code, Cursor and Codex read the schema and stage edits for review without holding database credentials.
Diagrams are saved as plain JSON files that can be committed to Git, and the app works offline. It includes 26 schema lint rules, SQL import, and exports to formats such as SVG, Mermaid, DBML, PlantUML, D2, OpenAPI and data dictionaries. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux and is aimed at software engineers.
