MIAPI is an API that returns AI-generated answers grounded in real-time web search. A single call to its answer endpoint searches the web and returns a synthesized answer with inline [1][2] citation markers, source URLs and a confidence score. It also offers an OpenAI-compatible chat completions endpoint, so existing OpenAI client code can be pointed at MIAPI by changing the base URL.
Beyond answers, the API includes a knowledge mode for answering from supplied text alone or combined with web search, Server-Sent Events streaming, conversation memory via a conversation_id, raw search results for bring-your-own-model and RAG pipelines, and dedicated news and image search endpoints. Requests can restrict or exclude domains, force a response language, set a time zone, and use a kids style with parental topic blocking. Responses are cached, with X-Cache headers indicating hits.
