About gifPaper

gifPaper is a Mac app and website offering seamlessly looping 4K live wallpapers, some paired with ambient music. The wallpapers play on the Mac desktop and also appear on the lock screen. The site presents them as an alternative to low-quality GIFs.

The library is organized into searchable categories and styles, including Lofi, Cyberpunk, Synthwave, Dark Academia, Gothic, Art Deco, Vaporwave, Space, Fireplace, Rain, Ocean, Nature, Christmas and color-based groupings. Each wallpaper can be previewed in the browser, viewed fullscreen, and set through the app. Where available, users can download the accompanying music or a video version with music; some wallpapers do not have music yet.

The product is aimed at Mac users who spend long hours at their screens and want an animated, ambient desktop. A free trial of the Mac app is offered, and the website can also be left open to play wallpapers and music in the browser.
