About FaviconDL
FaviconDL is a free web tool for finding and downloading the favicons a website publishes. After a user pastes a domain or URL, the extractor reads the page's HTML link tags, its web app manifest and well-known paths such as /favicon.ico and /apple-touch-icon.png. It then lists each icon with its measured pixel size, format, declaration source and direct URL, and ranks the sharpest version first.
The Download button saves a PNG at 16, 32, 48, 64 or 128 px, or at the original resolution, and warns when an export is upscaled. Copy-ready HTML link tags and direct URLs are provided, and the original ICO, PNG or SVG can be opened from the direct URL. When a site exposes no icon, the service falls back to Google's public favicon service. A bulk downloader accepts up to 100 domains and exports a ZIP.
A free API with no key or sign-up returns either a redirect to the image or JSON describing the icon's source and native size. The Tools page also includes an Image to Favicon generator and a PNG to ICO converter. It is aimed at web developers building link previews and designers collecting brand assets.
