Azimutt is an entity-relationship diagram (ERD) tool for exploring, documenting, designing and analyzing databases. It is aimed at companies with large databases, whether a large monolith or many microservices, where an incremental, selective view of tables, columns and relations keeps diagrams readable.
Users can start from samples, a SQL file or a database connection URL, or run it from the command line with npx. Features include search, following relations, finding paths between tables, table and column notes, tags, saved layouts and layout memos. Databases can be designed with AML, a minimal text DSL, and schemas exported as SQL, AML or JSON. A built-in linter flags inconsistencies and suggests schema improvements, and data exploration includes AI-generated SQL. It supports relational and document databases natively, with extension through JSON, and diagrams can be embedded or shared via private links.
It is used by developers, architects, DBAs, data analysts, product managers and support teams. The product is made and hosted in the EU, and its makers state it may be more than needed for small or simple databases.
